Osbournium, a proposal
Created | Updated Mar 28, 2003
Many elements have been named after people. Here are just a couple
- Curium – Named after Pierre and Marie Curie
- Gadolinium – Named after J Gadolin
- Einsteinium – Named after Einstein
- Mendelevium – Named after Dimitri Mendeleev
- Plutonium – Named after Micky Mouse‘s Dog,
Although the above are just all esteemed, there is one man whom deserves an element named after him more than any other. That man is Ozzy Osbourne. This is the man who has contributed more to heavy metal than any chemist ever could. This is why I propose the next element that is discovered should be named Osbournium.
Likely reactions
- Fitting for the prince of darkness, reacts badly to sunlight
- Does not mix well with water, however although mixing well with alcohol can react violently
- Unstable, decays at a steady but has a half life longer than anybody expects
