there's an article on helmets here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/A694596

I find that a flag on the bike makes a big difference - as does riding something which makes them think "what the f**k is THAT?!?!" smiley - biggrin

Ah yes Guy, sorry to take so long replying. Excellent entry; that link has been attached to the first word of my entry a long time now.

Do flags not carry a load of wind-resistance? As I said in A901036 'Recumbent Bikes - the Future is Laid-back' I rely (for the moment) on the unusual look of the bent and have no problem (for the moment) with invisibility (E&OE).

I believe you ride a Pashley PDQ? My bike's an Optima Stinger, which is low enough that I can touch the ground with both hands when seated. http://www.chapmancentral.com/Web/public.nsf/Documents/Bike_Optima_Stinger

PDQ yes I do. Not too low. My son rides a Bike E and my brother has recently got an American thing like a gate, several yards long, but he's delighted with it, has just toured the south of Ireland. Woven seat, no sorebum.

Sounds like a TourEasy or maybe a GoldRush.
