Well, Clive directed me here for a private discussion on X2, and I find that nothing has been said in 5 days. Ho hum.
Did anyone else notice that Colossus appeared not to have a Russian accent? Admitedly he only has a couple of lines, but they certainly didn't sound Russian to me.

I thought the accent was reasonable, though a friend said that it was not unlike the obviously-fake German accent that Jim Broadbent used for Prince Albert in 'Blackadder's Christmas Carol' a few years back.
Can't quite see it meself.

The guy is blue and has a tail, and we're worrying about his accent?
Anyway, he was with the circus, when they toured you'd expect him to ham it up a bit, maybe it just stuck.

I suppose I'm talking about the accent because it's something the actor can control. Being blue and having a tail, would, to an extent, be foistered upon him: these are things he has no control over as an actor. What we're analysing is his performance, and the accent is a part of that performance.
Oh, and by the way, thinking about Jason Straker... though he is clearly not Legion, I can't he but think that the writer (or writers, I really don't know who wrote the screenplay) had Legion at the back of their mind when they created the character.

Clive the flying ostrich: Amateur Polymath | Chief Heretic. Posted May 11, 2003
Well i spotted a mistak this time around.
Nothign so tedious as 'How did magneto know where the X jet was?' or 'Why didn't the X-men use the backdoor into Alkali Lake and thus by-pass all the security and guards?'
A real, genuine mistake: When Nightcrawler is suspended upside down in the tree above Magneto's little exposition in the forest clearing - you can clearly see the suspension wire holding him up on his left side.
I did a double-take in the cinema
Still the film is excellent from start to finish - hands up whoose pre-ordering the dvd when it comes out?
Key: Complain about this post
