Official Meet 22nd November
Gnomon - time to move on Posted Nov 16, 2003
I believe the full time-table is as follows:
Trip to National Gallery "love letters exhibition"
Trip to Provost's House, Trinity College
Food
Drink
I'd suggest times as follows:
22-Nov-2003
2pm meet at National Gallery, in Foyer at Merrion Square Entrance, or just outside if it is sunny
2:30pm proceed to Love Letters exhibition (€10 per adult entry)
3:15pm cup of coffee in Gallery café
4:00pm Provost's house
5:30pm meet at some as yet unspecified eatery for food
?:??pm proceed to pub where Guinness will consumed in vast quantities
Who agrees? Let us know what you think.

I agree. That makes you and me and Genie.
€10 means ten euros folks but if you have a student card it's six.
I don't suppose they'll sell us a group ticket for three people . . .

Genie Posted Nov 17, 2003
That all sounds
Is the general consensus for Italian food? If so theres a nice restaurant just off grafton (I think) called Mona Lisa's, I've eaten there a few times, the food is nice and very reasonably priced.. But it does get busy so it might be a good idea to make a reservation...
Any other suggestions for an eatery?....

Heard good reports of Mona Lisa.
Chaiwallah (struggling with crashing puter) says he might join us for food, seen the paintings.

Well, sign me up as well for the meet-up. And I suppose I might as well go and look at the gallery too.

Gnomon the Positive has one; failing that so have I.
Will you join us at the Provost's House Lord S? The secretary called me to confirm the visit and wanted numbers so off the top of my head I said 5.
The bad news is that Christy won't be there
The good news is that the Provost will be home and he will let us in
The bad news is that the reason he's home is that the University is in a financial crisis.
His name is Dr John Hegarty by the way.

Is mise Duncan Posted Nov 20, 2003
I have a Triumph club meeting during the day (which is odd, since I don't currently have a Triumph but such is life) but can probably be back in town for 4ish - I shall try and meet you and will remember to wear my H2G2 T-shirt so if you see a lost soul in a H2G2 T-shirt (possibly covered in engine oil) that is mise...

Anybody going to the meet should email me at [email protected] giving me their researcher name and mobile phone number. I'll reply with my mobile number. That way, we'll be able to contact each other if we get lost / don't turn up / don't know where the evening meet is because it hasn't yet been decided.
