A Conversation for Silicon Valley
San Jose International Airport
CliffT Started conversation May 28, 2002
In the last paragraph in the entry on Silicon Valley, the author claims that there are no flights from San Jose International to cities outside the US. After starting to use "International" in the name several years ago, I know at times the airport was International in name only. Today (May 28th, 2002) I checked the airport's web site (www.sjc.org) which has a guide listing current flights to and from San Jose. At the end of the guide, it does list several flights to various cities in Mexico, Canada (Montreal) and Japan (Tokyo). At least one flight (from San Jose to Guadalajara, Mexico) is non-stop. So I think the airport authorities can use the word "International". Though I noticed that many of the other "International" flights do involve stopping elsewhere before continuing on to the final destination. I've flown overseas several times and always had to use San Francisco International.
