One thing you omit from your article is the significance of Elmers End (where the tram service out of Wimbledon terminates). Elmers End is mainly known for its large supermarket, but is also the location of an even larger cemetery. Aforesaid cemetery contains the mortal remains of the legendary WG Grace (a cricketer of note) and the even more legendary Thomas Crapper (who needs no introduction).
