A Conversation for The Swedish Governmental System

I'm afraid I have an american education, so we only know of the powerful Swedish kings who marched through the Baltic states and Germany. Since your country was listed as neutral nation in my circa 1960 history books in high school, for some reason, I still thought you were a monarchy.
Is there a source that shows the how and when of how your government gained constitutional-monarchy?

Not that I know of but the king lost power in Sweden around 1860, now he's nothing but a figure to represent Sweden around the world.

Constitutional-monarchy was developed under the late 19 century and got it´s final "look" under the years 1917-1919. The king could from that moment no longer decide stuff that the goverment was against. How this was gained I have no idea
