Their music was for me transparent aswell magical.
I recognized myself in their music, I guess.

Yeah, that was a real tragedy. 
Did you see any of the BBC Four programmes about him recently? It was amazing how he just abandoned rock 'n' roll life after the Faces to travel around the country with a circus...

He was a bit later than the Stones - it was mid-1970s. It wasn't quite as flash as theirs. Lane's involved gypsy caravans and mandolin-based sounds - it lost him loads of money. As the documentary showed, he doesn't seem to have been the luckiest person in the world!

stones film was mid 70'they may well have ripped off the concept....much of therir stuff was according to Billy Preston
