A Conversation for Modern Etiquette

Street etiquette

Please don't meander along in the centre of the pavement, especially if holding hands with someone - leave space for others walking faster to pass by.
If standing talking or at a bus stop, also leave space for passers by.
A keep to the right convention would be good to avoid those head on encounters where you sidestep in unison.
Please don't spit or discard chewing gum on the pavement.

I've cultivated a quick smile & head shake for beggars. Charity collectors, I'll give if I want to, ignore otherwise.

Otherwise in general I'd be inclined to say behave towards others as you'd like them to behave - but obviously some people have very different standards!
