Holding the door

I think that's some sort of cultural thing too. In some countries it seems to be just not in the customs.
I remember several times holding doors at a shopping mall somewhere and people would just be happy to pass it without a thank-you and not a hint that they would actually hold it too. And it was a busy mall I don't mind holding door but I can't just stay there all day!
