Remember his diatribe about the "Persian Gulf Distraction"?
Here we are nearly a decade later and the next generation of a deluded political dynasty is about to take us right back again.
How little these people learn from monumental mistakes.

EncyBass-: Not going to be around much next week, cos I've got a new job... Posted Mar 6, 2003
Anyone else remember the stuff he said about smoking?
"Y'know, when there's someone next to you when you're smoking and they start coughing?
That's pretty ing cruel, whaddya do, go up to cripples and start dancing?"

On the war...
Yeah, we're doin' alright, but we have yet to face the ELITE REPUBLICAN GUARD (ten feet tall, they s**t bullets). Then after 6 weeks of continuous carpet bombing they became just the REPUBLICAN GUARD, and then The Republicans made this s**t up about there being guards there at all. The Persian Gulf Distraction:- we hoped you enjoyed your firework show.
Watch out for every two-bit chat show host and cheap comic wheeling out Bill Hicks war material in the coming months

I think the mark of Bill's genius is reflected in it's timelessness - over 10 years since 'Dangerous' was released and every word has retained it's poignancy and relevance. Just take the name of your least favourite pop star/president/fevered ego and patch it into his material.
But really he was just extraordinarily funny and the finest stand-up comedian ever to grace the microphone.

After the third biggest army in the world there's a real big drop off...

The earliest video I know of is "Sane Man" - recorded in 1989. Available from Hick's former partner Kevin Booth. It's a truly fabulous piece of stand-up.
Look for "Sacred Cow Productions" on the web.
