The article states that Sweeney Todd lived in the 19th Century, seemingly basing this on Peter Haining's book. I have a copy of this book, which I haven't read for a while and don't have to hand, but my recollection is that Sweeney Todd lived in the *18th* century. This is supported by the site to which the article links, which gives Sweeney's date of birth as 1748.
I will check my copy of Haining's book tonight and get back to you.

I agree. As far as I know Sweeney Todd was born in London in 1748, which means he lived in the *18th* century
