Buzz Lightyear: Getting Ever Warmer

Oh dear, sorry about this! Me Again! smiley - erm
But just had to mention (which I thought belonged on a separate thread but appropriate here) about a recent campaign by Russian veterans who were seeking to change the Russia city (smiley - headhurts Can't think of it's post-communist name! Do y'all know out there? Is it Volgagrad or something? No, that's not it, is it?! Ach, this is going to annoy me now!) back to the wartime Stalingrad. Not in honour of the evil despot (lucky he's still not around as I'd be purged for writing that! smiley - erm), but as a testament to the history of the place which has international resonance. Not a bad idea, it's just unfortunate how the name was derived.

Anyone got any thoughts on that? smiley - ok
[I'll be off now, as I've already said way toooo much here! smiley - blush] I say, gag me! smiley - bubbly

Mr. X ---> "Be excellent to each other. And party on, dudes!"

It's Post-Soviet name is St. Petersburg. (I think.)

I really don't understand why the Russians seemingly need a different name for each City depending on the Era. It makes learning History very confusing.

My mistake.

Stalingrad is Volgograd, Leningrad is St. Petersburg. (Stupid, confusing, Russian Cities.)
