A Conversation for Diet Coke

Did you know that a can of full fat (Classic) Coke is the best known hangover cure known to man? Especially if taken in conjunction with a Mars Bar. Don't ask me why but it works for me. Diet Coke doesn't seem to work as well but it does taste better. HG

Yes, I saw on a TV health show that to cure a hangover, they recommend drinking water, then drinking something sweet (fruit juice), then drinking something with caffine (coffee).
Of course, they didn't mention that drinking Coke achieves all three at once.

Tis best if it is slightly flat, which is why house parties are so great. When you wake up in the mornin there's always a half empty bottle of coke people were using for mixers the night before. Absolutely perfect hangover remedy at hand every time!

I find that it is most effective with a banana no idea why but this is following extensive research.

Someone once told me that Banannas are high in potassium and that the dehydrating effects of alcohol cause the body's potassium levels to drop. So that may explain why Bananas are so good.
Incidently, I have just heard that all of the Bananas in the world have caught a disease and soon (approx 10 years)there won't be any more.
So make the most of them. HG

Hey ya'll!
The whole banana disease thing. Well it isn't a disease, me is thinking from knowledge that it's the fact that the banana's now have now seeds and thus once they grow they just produce the fruit and die instaed of reproducing like normal ones.
However not all bananas will do this, me being from Bermuda and all! We don't import any bananas and thus ours are pure and seeded! Ours will live on forever lol!!!!!
The islanders will live on!

Years ago I worked for a season in a big time-share complex in Lanzarote, Canary Islands, in a fastfood kind of restaurant within the place called the Mai Tai Bar. My average night of sleep during three months comprised about 2 hours of rest. In the mornings, when I got to the kitchen, I drank half a pint of chicken stock garnished with the juice of half a lemon and a few drops of brandy. I can guarantee there is no better treatment to hangover, drop by drop. Will bet my life any day (I´ve probably done so a few times !). It gives you back hydration (that a right word?) and salts lost during the night, and the sprinkle of alcohol fights back the abstinence syndrome that is substantial part (if obviously not necessarily fundamental but always existing) of any hangover worth the name.
Do we have a thread covering hangover cures? If there is anything a spaniard like me can contribute on is tidbits of knowledge concerning nights of alcohol and fiesta!
