Panama is not in South America.

The current country, Panama, is a recent and artificial one created by United States hegemony in order to build the Panama canal in such a way and at a cost that suited our plutocrats at the time.
It is possible that in the 1500s the aboriginals named Panama, and the colony, were indeed to be found in South America, in addition to or instead of, the isthmus.

"After conquering the Aztec Empire in
Mexico in 1519 and establishing themselves in the Isthmus of Panama, they turned their
eyes south as rumors told of an immensely rich empire, where gold abounded."
from http://www.ecuador-travel.net/information.history.colony.htm
and this site: http://ahpanama.com/da344b6f65627d7d956492fff63918af/general_information/history
makes it pretty clear that the isthmus was the colony.
But, whatever.

I tried to let them know back when it was still being sub-edited but nobody seemed to notice my post. Oh well.

Hi, Wotchit!
I wish I'd been around when your entry was in PR. It really is a fine entry and it seems silly in some ways for me to be bothering about this small detail. Let me congratulate you long after the fact on your selection by scouts and editors.
