A Conversation for Air Guitar

There's a large group of around 20 of us here in the south who get together and play Air Guitar to Queen, Led Zepplin, Green Day, Pink Floyd, Motorhead, Hawkwind and more! We are a group of 13 lads and 7 girls (or that's the regulars anyway!) - thus proving that Air Guitar is not exclusive to the male sex.
Also, backstage at a concert once - and since a number of times, I was air-tromboning my way though a slightly complicated lick in one of our pieces (to a previously recorded version), and one of the other trombonists sat down next to me and joined in. As a good friend - and trombonist at that, I know he was taking the mick, but once a trumpeter sat down with us doing his bit, we formed an Air Band. After about 10 in we had 2 trombones, a full trumpet section, 3 flutes, 2 clarinets, a tuba (although we had to pay him!) and a drummer!
We were in the large back-stage area at the Winter Garden, Eastbourne, and our only failure was that we couldn't get one of the County Music Teachers to come over and conduct!!!

Excellent, and the best thing is that you can play it anywhere anytime!!!

Indeed so! I have been caught in my office a couple of times, and I've had some very weird looks - but I just poit out that everyone does it, and it's perfectly natural, and so forth - and they usually leave me alone after that!!

Yep being caught is not that uncommon. Your having a great time thinking that no-ones watching only to find that a dozen people or so ARE watching!!!

I know - the most important part is being able to laugh it off. I sometimes got teased for a week or two - but if they see that you're not bothered and keep doing it - they soon realise that it's unstoppable!!!

You never know it might catch on! - Mission - to promote the air guitar and eventually get everyone strumming along.

Neat! I've been scared to find myself playing air trombone on occasion...whch kinda makes sense as I'm a bass trombonist of 10 years...

I personally find that women are usually not as adept at air guitar as men are. I think that they're afraid they might break a nail or something.
It would be best if women could just be satisfied with other "air" pasttimes such as air-cooking, air-knitting, air-hockey, and air-breathing. Quit trying to be our equals, and leave air-guitar for the men.
By the way, am looking for air-guitar tablature, if anybody knows how to get it...

Sweetie, men only play air guitar because they are too afraid to go out and learn to play the instrument properly When a women plays an air instrument, she is merely practicing finger position and timing for when she can get back to her instrument. She could also be unable to play her instrument of choice for some reason or another, and attempting to keep her knowledge fresh.

lol! I love doing the ait guitar to my record's, have this great guitar album by....Burt Weedon who has brought to you: 'wipe out, F.B.I, Apache', the Benny Hill theme tune and many more! Admittedly, you have to wait a bit for some of the classier stuff to come on before you can AG properly, but once you start you can't stop! It's a great form of exercise too
