Almost 20 years ago, my then girlfriend gave me a large patch of golden mink from a coat which a former husband had given her, and she had subsequently cut up on their parting. Loathe to let the little beasties have died for nothing, I sewed it into the hood of my duffel coat. I've still got it; it's a little tight around the girth these days, but the feeling of effectively sticking my (now balding) head into what is effectively a mink-lined pocket on a bitterly cold day cannot adequately be described here. wonderful!
