Other common misconception

If I may suggest a "common misconception" that is missing: The IB program if for those that cannot cope with the normal high school program.
Although I understand that the IB is regarded as "elite" in the US, and perhaps UK, that was not the general conception at my school. In my international school, back in France, students that could not cope with the normal curriculum were recommended the IB degree.
It thus generally had an unwarranted poor image, aggravated by the fact that an IB degree will generally not allow you to pursue higher education in France, and you will, at best, have to ask for a case by case recognition. Pursue.
So a few words on the quality of the program might be warranted, as countries with local "bacclaureates" might resist the IB.
It might therefore also be useful to advise potential candidates to enquire about IB recognition at the university they plan to attend.
