Surely beer cocktails happen when under age lads go into pubs and don`t know what to order so they just ask for everything they can think of; as in a pint of light and lager top or whatever. My personal favourite was always mild and bitter you had to be dedicated to drink this A because it is quite hard to find mild anymore and B cause its revolting aah happy days
