It all started with a binge of 'bardcore', the Youtube music genre in which musicians play modern pop and rock songs as if they were medieval troubadour numbers. Look it up sometime when you've got an hour to kill. I particularly love the bardcore version of 'Jolene' by the beautifully-named Hildegard von Blingin. That's a pun on…never mind, you'll figure it out yourself. This sort of thing proves that creativity is not dead in the internet age. It's not all kitty memes.

I wondered if I could jazz up an actual song from the Middle Ages. The background to this video is Walther von der Vogelweide's 'Palästinalied'. Video footage from an old British tv show called 'Lancelot'. Snark by me.
