Surprise Harvest

A plant growing in a surprising place: the rain gutter.

We think this happened because of 'helpful' birds. (It's a bluejay joke.) I didn't actually notice the plant growing out of the rain gutter until it cast a shadow on the ground in the sun. Farmer Hoggett came over with a ladder and removed what turned out to be some excellent mulch, which we put in the garden. Life is full of surprises.

We are glad he did this: Hurricane Florence is dumping a lot of water on our house. Clear gutters are a good thing.
