Lovely entry. I had never heard of Töpffer before.
Still, I wonder where the head comes in? Vieux means old, not head.

Hi Dmitri and Bel! Who came up with the 'Wood Head'? Anyways I enjoyed your piece and also went and read the whole thing! Quite interesting ... especially the transformations in Body Mass Index almost all the characters go through repeatedly over the course of the adventures.

Wiki called it that, though I'm not sure who they were quoting - and I'm thinking that it was the closest approximation, since 'Mr Old Wood' doesn't make a lot of sense in English, whereas 'Woodenhead' would. If you'll notice, the English version took a different tack.
I thought you'd like those drawings, Willem.

Well. Vieux Bois probably doesn't make a lot of sense in French, either.
I noticed that Wiki gave it as wooden head, and thought somebody who doesn't have a clue 'translated' it.
