What's this? A jolly musical elf?

Well, for 1914, it was a bit racy. Note the scandalously short bloomers on the fetching Christmas ornament. Exploitation, we call it.

Puck was a humour magazine. You know humour magazines: they think they're funny. Rather like Punch. We defy you to laugh as hard at Punch as those people did back then. Oh, well. Someday, your grandchildren will set you straight about 'Saturday Night Live'1.
