A Conversation for Baby-led Weaning

I've done puree weaning and (mostly) baby led weaning with my first and second children respectively. Mainly, I must say, because that's the way each child seemed to lean. I found advantages and disadvantages to both of course.

My son, the puree baby, really hates to chew even now at nearly five and has the manual dexterity of a slug and my daughter, the diy baby, is currently driving me nuts by refusing to eat more than a few bites of anything at any one time and also refusing food randomly so that I am constantly having to feed her bits of this and that and never get to plan meals for her properly.

On the other hand, my son eats healthily, with a healthy appetite and my daughter is much more handy and exploring than he ever was (as long as she only ever has to eat it once).

Anyway, nice article - I thought you did an excellent job of being informative without being preachy.

Thank you, especially for the bit about not being preachy!

Also lovely to hear your stories. smiley - cupid also has days where he randomly decides that he doesn't like bananas, and seems to have decided that eggs are a no no. Olives and beetroot, however, are current favourites. smiley - huh
