A group of us are throwing a Towel Day themed cocktail party tonight. Complete with Make your own pan-galactic gargle blaster bar (shopping for this was hilarious best new recipe wins a gold painted brick with a slice of lemon wrapped around it) an Earth pinata filled with digital watches and assorted goodies.
For nibbles we are having
Zaphod Beeble-brats (hotdogs)
Hummas Kavula (Hummas with pita add veg)
Vogosphere crab salad (pasta salad with crab)
-and desert is Almond cookies in the shape of mice and Oh No Not Again petunia puddings (which in actuality are those dirt deserts you see at children's parties with a candy petunia like flower on top)

There will be a Horse & Groom Relay race where teams of 3 must
1) pull 3 pints (from a mini kegs)
2) drink 3 pints
3) eat a pack of peanuts

Then a rousing game of musical towels played to the Hitchhiker's theme song.

Towel day inspired me to join the h2g2 family, in order to share my personal favorite use of a towel. I attempted to register as a Researcher without initial success. With the help of the h2g2 Gurus however, I have now received my Vogon number, and (once I learn the proper procedural methodology), I hope to be rolling eyes in peer review shortly :! Throughout this process, my computer station's dedicated towel served a number of functions, though fortunately it was not required for squelching screams of impotent rage, as it has been in other similar circumstances! Happy belated Towel Day!
