A Conversation for The Holy Grail

I had just recently read of some (possibly speculative) etymology that would indicate that our modern word 'cretin' originates from an old Alpine French dialect translation of the Latin Christianus. (It wasn't used disparagingly; more in the sense that even congenital imbeciles (possibly caused by local lack of iodine) deserved pity because at least they were Christians (or human since everyone in the region was assumed to be Christian).
So, it would make sense that this "French troubadour called Chrétien of Troyes" would tell such a tale.
