This series sounds right up my street actually, being a big fan of the likes of Jules Verne, Bram Stoker, H G Wells etc Golden Age of gothic/sci-fi etc etc. Are there any books readily available? Will look out for these anyway. Cheers.

In a similar vein (although more science fiction & less superheros) is William Gibson & Bruce Sterlings' 'The Difference Engine'.
the nice thing about this book is that it could have happened!
(well, possibly)

Another steampunk novel is Tim Powers 'Anubis Gates'. It is supposedly a corker.
