Gnomon - time to move on

In Celtic mythology, Samhain was the 1st of November, rather than 31 October. The month of November is still called Samhain in Gaelic. The eve of 1 November, that is, the evening before 1 November, was Samhain Eve, later known as Hallow Eve.

Apollyon - Grammar Fascist

T get really specific, Samhain started at sunset on October 31st, because the Celts measured says from dusk to dusk, rather than dawn to dawn.

But Gnomon is right, Samhain is really November 1st.
