We all know that touching ice cold metal objects is a sure way to loose some skin, especially if the skin is slightly moist. And guess what, rolling in the snow will give you moist skin. Remembering to be carefull with metal doorknobs probably isn't very hard, but be carefull also with your feet. The metal objects likely to be encountered by feet are much fewer and more uncommon than the ones you can get your hands on, but after rolling and walking along outside your feet will be numb and you won't notice it when you step on a metal gridle and tear bits of skin off your feet with every step.
Well, actually there's a good chance you'll notice, I did. But it hurt, almost as much as when I got my lips stuck to the doorhandle... don't ask.

Well... since you beg...
I was bringing in a load of firewood, an unbalanced load of firewood, and needed both hands to keep it from falling apart, so I tried to open the door with my mouth. Which was stupid, since my lips stuck to the ice cold brass doorhandle. I stood there for a while hoping someone would come to my rescue, but then I realised that opening the door would involve pushing the doorhandle down (ouch) and opening the door in my face (double ouch), so I tore myself free. Not all that much damage, but pulling the skin off your lips hurts! That satisfy your curiousity?

Probably wouldn't want to lean on a metal railing while putting your clothes back on after, either...

I'm glad I've never been stuck to a doorknob but I once got my tounge stuck to an ice cube, which still isn't that pleasant. Good thing I had a tap handy...

Ah, this thread makes me recall my highschool days, playing trumpet in sub-zero temperatures for various holiday parades. How I managed to put the metal mouthpiece to my lips so many times under those conditions without getting seriously stuck is still a mystery to me

Heh, I played bass trombone. Trumpets have tiny mouthpieces, they warm up nice and quick. The toilet-bowl mouthpiece on a bass trombone is a different story........I can't even fathom Sousaphone players' nightmares
