I grew up with christian parents, and was constantly forcefed their bulls**t until the age of around 15, when they gave up, and I wasn't forced to go to church anymore.
Part of their master plan to convert me was to send me to one of these festivals, I think it was 'Greenbelt'.
I thought it was hilarious.
I'm going to bite my tongue on how I feel about parents forcing christianity on thier children. The entry is very well written, however if it was to be an accurate guide entry, perhaps you could have mentioned the hoards of children who simply do not want to be there.

(I did get something out of it though, I found drugs and dance music in the form of christian ravemeisters Cola Boy performing '7 ways to love'.

I too am rather suspicious of Christian Festivals and the whole charismatic movement.
My experience of them was whilst I lived in Sheffield in the mid to late 80s. Nearby was a church (St.Thomas', Crookes) that was lead by charismatics who used music lights and sound to whip up the congregation into a frenzy which they the preachers controlled for their own ends.
To be honest on the occasions that I went to the service with some student friends, I left feeling as if I had been at some sort of a Nuremburg rally. All that was missing was the stern faced blond children and the flaming torches (they already had the anti-semitism you see.)
Thankfully the whole rotten edifice came crashing down a few years later when the main preacher (I forget his name) was proved to be taking advantage in a carnal way, of some of the more impressionable members of his congregation. Naughty naughty

I think the preacher's surname was Brain.
I am truly sorry that you have had bad experiences with this type of meeting. Obviously, you are not alone.
I think it might have been just a little too strong to accuse them of anti-semitism, though! If those meetings had been like real Nazi party rallies, everyone would have been too afraid to tell on the leader, and if they did they would be visited by nasty people in brown shirts, shod in jackboots!
regards,
Rev.

Well, obviously it is counter-productive for parents to force Christianity (or any other faith) on their children.
I cannot for the life of me imagine why parents would want to force their children to go to such meetings and festivals, and am truly sorry that it happened to you!
regards,
Rev.

Cheers Rev
I didn't say that the service was a nazi meeting, I said that it felt like one. It reminded me so much of say Reifenstal's "Triumph of the Will".
As for the anti-semitism, that was real. Many people's reaction to me changed when they discovered that my mother has a German Jewish surname

Hiya, Santa!
By the way, I've been VERY good this year!
But, to get back to the business at hand, I don't think everybody agrees with you, big guy!
By the way, please come through the cat flap this year, instead of the chimney, as I've blocked it off now. Wouldn't want you getting stuck. AND, didn't Mrs. Claus plead with you to stop calling yourself "spook"? Shame on you!!!
regards,
Rev.
