Sometimes it doesn't work. I could have bought a new topbox for my motorcycle on credit card. Not wanting to pay the hefty interest 
I set aside money to buy cash. 
Once I had the money together, I went in only to find that new stocks were even more expensive than the original would have been including the interest! 
Now I still don't have a topbox and I'm still trying to save up the rest!
