Towel Day is an international celebration of the life and works of Douglas Adams. Observers of this holiday honor our site's founder by carrying a towel around all day. Every Towel Day is an opportunity to meet hoopy towel-toting froods and introduce curious strangers to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Three h2g2 Ways to Celebrate Towel Day:

1. Wrap your dog in a towel. Take him for a walk and wait for people to remark that it isn't raining.
2. Replace tinfoil hat with improvised headgear made of artistically-folded towel. Explain that this not only keeps you from losing your towel, but will come in handy if the Vogons start dropping bricks.
3. Take your towel to the nearest pub. Demand that it get its own seat. Order it drinks. Then use it as a weapon when you get into a fight with the only ignoramus in the place who has never read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. After trouncing him completely, offer to buy him beer and peanuts.
