Fresh-cut tomates make sandwiches soggy! When you slice tomatoes, place them in a strainer to drain or in a hurry, pat the slices dry using a clean kitchen towel. The red fruity stuff is tastier and doesn't curl or saturate the bread. I use a thin layer of smooth cottage cheese instead of butter/marge. Just add gerkins, pickles etc and you've a great lunch!
