Enjoyed this entry Hope I never need a prosthesis, but nice to know the science of prosthetics has moved on from Douglas Bader
The introduction had me reaching for a dictionary a couple of times. I now realise:
'more proximal variants' probably means 'amputations higher up the leg / including more joints' and
'dyvascularity' is 'having a defective blood supply'
