There's also a growing band of masochists who prefer to simplify the complexity of multiple gears, hydraulic disk brakes in favour of a having just one gear.
Yes it's eccentric but then MTBing as an activity/sport is arguably quite eccentric

Interesting, I suppose they want to get back to the simple man and machine idea and focus more on skill than bike mechanics and technology.
