I would suggest that townies without a natural vista can acheive something like the same effect by contemplation of the natural world at their own feet. How many hours did we spend as children watching the ants at work, or following a beetle to its destination, or quietly observing bees distributing pollen? How many shades of green are there in a lawn? Close your eyes and hear the birds singing; each an individual.
Stoep sitting sounds heavenly! Thank you for an inspiring article.

I'm about to return to the site of my last stoep-sit, which inspired the article. Add that to a nice little bit of back-pay
