Just to say, I organised my family into playing this on the way to Avebury and back today and it was great, kept us amused for ages! So thanks for the idea!

Cor, really? I thought it would be more of an exercise in nostalgia than a useful entry.

Well, we're a very competitive family... there's six of us altogether and it makes a change to have organised competition instead of pointless arguements. Plus my dad is guaranteed to be nuts about anything with "cricket" in the title.

I suppose the scoring is slightly easier than in the pointless arguments.

It certainly beats the traditional 'returning from a paintball outing to Birmingham University' game, which was garage.

The rules were simple: if you point at a garage that no-one else has seen yet and shout 'Garage!' in the driver's ear, you score a point. Bonus points can be incurred for making the driver incur penalty points or near misses in the process. Garages without forecourts are ineligible.

That sounds like fun, too... although maybe a bit less civilised.

You could sort of combine both, by shouting "PUB!" in the driver's ear, with bonus points if you make the driver stop so that you can go for a bevvy.

That's a good idea too... I'll try it, next time I'm stuck in a confined space on wheels with my lovely, adorable, gorgeous siblings.

Hmmm...the 'pub' game is just routine when no-one's in any sort of hurry.
