Thanks for the link which I had missed as I'm tuned into the BBC in the South east for web news.
Strange to think how an apparently innocent passtime can have such a dark pedegree!

No worries. That's how we keep our history. We doing things, things that are important, we may not know why, but we keep the tarditions *alive*. It makes us who we are.
