h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I tried mixing bleach and ammonia one time, while i was in my careless mad scientist phase. keep in mind i have a gas mask, and i had it on when i mixed them. I did it in my garage. First, i tried chlorine tablets from my pool filter, dropping them into ammonia. this reaction seemed to be the worst of them all. it produced a foaming and steaming reaction, which smelled obnoxiously of chlorine gas. i took the gas mask off for a few seconds and i thought i was gonna die. i came running out of the garage coughing like my lungs were trying to turn inside out and come up trough my wind pipe. it actually felt like throwing up, but it was my lungs. it also burnt my eyes, nose and throut. I hafta tell you if i only knew that this reaction can have a few different results, i never would have tried it. I also hafta say its obvious to me why this has been used as a chemical weapon in foreign countries. I'm lucky it didnt kill me
