Have you ever tried sun-tea? I don't know how well it works with "real" tea (perhaps become too bitter?), but I"ve often seen it done with herb teas (straight herbs, no real tea leaves in it). The idea is basically the same - only you put your jar out in the sun for a couple of hours.

I had sun tea once... it was horrible. Maybe it was just not made right, but this recipe works well for me
