My fear is that just like so many other UK programs that the US has co-opted and made their own, shows like Watchdog or Crimewatch will catch the American public's imagination. If that happens the US will legally change their opinions about cameras in public places but of course will swing the pendulum too far in the wrong direction. I forsee cameras everywhere to satisfy the public needs for entertainment, a virtual world that crosses the line between that which anyone can see from a public space to intrusion of privacy.
