The crew of the British vessel that "claimed' Rockall for the UK are rumoured to have returned home singing thusly:
"Oh we all set sail to find Rockall,
Oh we all set sail to find Rockall,
We found a luimp of granite,
And a load of startled gannet,
But apart from that we found ................ Rock all!

Hmm, sounds like a bit of a fib, as that bares a startling resemblance to Flanders and Swanns own ode on the subject...
''The fleet set sail for Rockall
To free the isle of Rockall
From fear of foreign foe.
We sped across the planet
To find this lump of granite
One rather startled Gannet,
In fact, we found Rockall.''

And then of course, there's the Wolfe Tones' song...
"Oh rock on Rockall, you'll never fall to Britain's greedy hands
Or you'll meet the same resistance that you did in many lands
May the seagulls rise and pluck your eyes and the water crush your shell,
And the natural gas will burn your ass and blow you all to hell. "
Charming, eh?
