I remember reading somehere that Cleese and Booth used to cover a wall in an enormous sheet of paper for each episode so they could work out the convoluted plot changes and character interactions.

This makes sense. I think it'a great testament to how well it was written that it's still funny today. Look at other sitcoms from the 70's - Dad's Army, Some Mothers, On the Buses, etc - all very dated. People are still buying FT on DVD and it regularly ranks high in lists of best comedies. smiley - biggrin
