Anyone else ever seen this chart?

Hmm, and how many categories can you fit into?
Besides, it's all double-arrows at the bottom...

Thank goodness - I didn't notice the double arrows at the bottom. That makes me feel so much better!
FYI, I fit into six of those categories. I guess that I can feel superior to a whole lot of people. But I fall into some of the categories in the same column. Does that mean that I consider me to be more/less geeky than myself?
Of course, it's hard to be considered reasonably normal when people see me wearing a tail while walking around. College is going to be fun...

Is that USA college or UK college? IE, what age range?
Certainly at university I found you could get away with pretty much anything (and people did) if you were confident and consistent about it. A tail would be towards the unusual end of the spectrum, but probably not the most...
Incidentally, I never asked what species you were?

I'll be starting college in the USA this September, although I've been indulging in a gap-year, which seems to be more of a British pastime. Working, not travelling, before you ask.
Yes, you surmised correctly with your wolf guess. It certainly is interesting to watch the reactions of people who see my tail. Many, I'm sure, see it, but don't say anything. A few people comment, mostly "nice tail", which I appreciate. Young children are the most likely to say anything, but because of their age it's more likely to be to their parents than to me.
Now, if only it were real... *sigh*

I'd never have the courage to do anything like that out in public... Plus I've heard stories. Like, you shouldn't wear a fursuit out in public unless you're with some friends or you're likely to get beaten up and set on fire.
Well, nice to see a few other furs on here, anyway.
=)

Rebus Posted Jul 5, 2002
I've never heard of that one. The weather around here alone would stop me from wearing a full fursuit, at least in summer.
Darn. There's no smiley for sweating profusely while dressed up as an animal.

Martin Harper Posted Jul 5, 2002
I can see where a fursuit might cause problems - but accessories like a tail would seem pretty safe. After all, some people go clubbing, hen parties, etc in bunny ears - and they don't seem to get any unwanted attention... (quite the opposite! )
How'd you make your tail, anyway? Is it real fur?
Tails [was: *wry smile*]
Rebus Posted Jul 6, 2002
No, it's not real fur. It was very hard to get good fake fur, but I eventually found some. For more info you can go to http://werewolf.dyndns.org/~rebus/tail/
Note that I am not a master seamstress (darn this sexist language - there's no masculine form of seamstress), so the tail does not look quite as good, perhaps, as I would like. But it's pretty good.
There are a couple of pictures of me wearing my tail. Feel free to flee in terror.

'master seamstress' has the peculiarity of being both male-implied (from master) and female-implied (from seamstress), which could make it gender-neutral in a very odd way...

Rebus Posted Jul 6, 2002
Hmm... I don't think that 'master seamstress' would be gender-neutral, just rather confused. I suppose that I could abuse the English language some more and arrive at the word 'seamster', but that just looks weird.

Sorry. For anyone interested in how I made my tail, my website is down for a long while. Uni put up a firewall (for good reasons), and I don't have any other hosting available.

To Scaryfish- I don't think you'ed get clobbered for wearing a tail in NZ, depending on where you go, but people would daw conclusions about your mental health. I reckon I could easily weare one to school and get away with it, though. After all, the 6/7 forms are so crazy, someone ( a guy) wore a girl's uinform once and got away with it. Tails would be no trouble at all.
