Or are they best eaten straight away? I need something to take to a party next week but I need to make it in advance.

If you're going to make them in advance the main thing is to get them into some Tupperware or similar airtight container as soon as possible after taking them out of the oven. As the entry implies, the moist texture is (as with many things ) a large part of the appeal - so they'll be pretty good as long as you stop them drying out.

Well that makes a lot of sense. Whether it will help depends on whether anything worth keeping comes out the oven.

What came out the oven was *very* good.
Which is proof of how easy these are to make. (My mother's comment on hearing I'd made them was 'Well that must given your oven a shock'. Charming.)
