That religions require blind and unquestioning faith is a false and unfair generalisation. And scientists are sometimes fall into the trap of refusing to accept evidence of things which contradict their worldview just like anyone else.

Before enlightenment chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water.

It's ego that wants other people to believe what you do - not science, not religion (though religion is generally totally ego-based as in I'm right and you're damnned to hell).

Real enlightenment means you don't have any problem with other people's beliefs while being very happy with yours, whatever it may be.
