At a place where I worked last year, the prototype of a touch-screen based system was found to have crashed overnight almost every time we got in, yet left on all day it just wouldn't misbehave. We eventually correlated the days it hadn't crashed to the days the cleaner hadn't emptied the bins...
It turned out that, while the cleaner had the sense to avoid the keyboards and mice of machines we had left running, she was unaware of touch screens, and a good blast of "Mr Sheen" and a wipe with a soft duster confused the driver enough to crash Windows...
