How can i put this...ABSOLUTE CRAP... I was there and in Rome 84. We had a real nightmare in Rome and in the German Austrian and french papers on the way home had been apologised to by the Italian press for their behaviour - UNREAL. But in the UK we were described as hooligans as pictures in the papers of the LFC fans who were being baton charged for no other reason than we were singing were printed totally out of context. The Italian police were scum, as were our papers.
Our coach survived a huge rock thrown from a bridge landing on the roof (it was huge and must have taken 3 Geoff Capes to lift). We didn`t even make it to our hotel and drove continuously to Austria.
Fast forward to 85. we were told we could purchase tickets from the LFC end of the ground and tickets were being sold but for extotionate amounts to Juve only?????? So they ended up being squashed in their end to begin with. The ground, which they are now beginning to tell the truth about, was like a building site, rubble on the terrace and stanchions and poles just lying around. The police were charging into our fans ripping scarves and flags from people...i still don`t know why. But not the Juve fans.
I got there some 45 mins before kick off maybe more(15 years ago) with several friends i had met the year before to hear that Juve fans had been attempting to kick down a fence to attack and many people (quite a lot of Families with kids, which actually surprised me how many) were saying they were quite scared.
by the way i do have a soft spot for Chelsea and i am a cockney and i ended up in a row with a woman who said i shouldn`t be there as i came from London. It did get heated with the husband as well and maybe that was why they were saying there were London firms there as well...RUBBISH...i only heard scousers and i had been in Cafes bars ferries trains for 2 days and not seen or heard about any other firms at all.
quite soon to kick off (and LFC fans were renowned for their late arrival to away games) the LFC end filled up really quick and of course the baiting from both fans was happening. Amazingly the Juve fans started trying to break the fence again. I stood and watched this maybe 50-60 ft away. The LFC fans then seemed to go as one and with several pushes the fence gave way. Once it gave way a lot more LFC than who had broke the fence just swarmed through and they just seemed to gather momentum. The police tried to baton charge several times but it seemed so haphazoured. Remember we had been batoned in 84 and they had just used snatch squads for our flags and word had got around how we had been treated since we got in the ground so tensions were high. believe me you could taste it, it was literally scary. But there had been no preplanned revenge for 84 but after what was happening with the fence and the police had just stood and watched as they tried to get at us when we were just a small group LFC just got angry i suppose.
i am not trying to excuse LFC or blaming JUVE or anybody else.i`m not even attempting to put it into some sort of context. I`m just telling what i saw and heard and what had happened in 84. someone else can hold the fans police etc responsible, i am just narrating my account. Rival firms and preplanned revenge RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH

I don't understand why you say this is Crap, since your account seems to match pretty closely to what it says in this Entry.
Can you point out which bit of the Entry you object to?
