Great article - got me all nostalgic for proper games that only needed 32k...
Anyway, who else got to play the Arc version? It was by far the best version I played, and probably also the hardest. The PC version was rubbish and I got to Elite within about a fortnight. I played the Arc version for years and only got to 'Dangerous'... I remember reading that one needed something like 8,500 kills to make it to Elite on the Arc. The missions were cool too - the one that involved saving a starving planet was particularly satisfying.
Is there an emulation of ArcElite for Windows anywhere?

There is a link on Ian Bell's website. I never managed to make it work though.
