A letter to Edge magazine a couple of months back mentioned a Gameboy Advance port of the original Elite.
If I recall correctly, by a home coder who was struggling to get permission to publish.
I pray daily that this does appear...

In theory, you ought to be able to run the ZX Spectrum version on one of those new Amstrad e-mail phones... I'm told it had about twice as many missions as any other port.
It would run faster than the original too!

I think I've still got a copy (boxed) of the spectrum one somewhere...
It had a most stupid copy protect system the lenslock where you had to put a plastic thing on the tv screen and try and work out what the code letters underneath were. Needless to say it was cracked.
The best part about the spectrum port was the cheat whereby if you launched from the space station, turned round and went to dock. If you timed it right and went hyperspace as you were docking you'd land in the remote space station. Saved much time in building up some money to reinforce the spaceship for fights

I got a second hand copy and the copyright protection was the only thing that would work on my +3.
Did you know that a large number (thousands I think) of copies were shipped with the wrong Lenslok?
